ESV MAT 05:15 Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house.

ESV MAT 05:16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.

ESV MAT 05:18 For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished.

ESV MAT 05:19 Therefore whoever relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever does them and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

ESV MAT 05:20 For I tell you, unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.

ESV MAT 05:21 "You have heard that it was said to those of old, 'You shall not murder; and whoever murders will be liable to judgment.'

ESV MAT 05:22 But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother will be liable to judgment; whoever insults his brother will be liable to the council; and whoever says, 'You fool!' will be liable to the hell of fire.

ESV MAT 05:23 So if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you,

ESV MAT 05:24 leave your gift there before the altar and go. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift.

ESV MAT 05:25 Come to terms quickly with your accuser while you are going with him to court, lest your accuser hand you over to the judge, and the judge to the guard, and you be put in prison.

ESV MAT 05:26 Truly, I say to you, you will never get out until you have paid the last penny.

ESV MAT 05:27 "You have heard that it was said, 'You shall not commit adultery.'

ESV MAT 05:28 But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

ESV MAT 05:29 If your right eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away. For it is better that you lose one of your members than that your whole body be thrown into hell.

ESV MAT 05:30 And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. For it is better that you lose one of your members than that your whole body go into hell.

ESV MAT 05:31 "It was also said, 'Whoever divorces his wife, let him give her a certificate of divorce.'

ESV MAT 05:32 But I say to you that everyone who divorces his wife, except on the ground of sexual immorality, makes her commit adultery, and whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery.

ESV MAT 05:33 "Again you have heard that it was said to those of old, 'You shall not swear falsely, but shall perform to the Lord what you have sworn.'

ESV MAT 05:34 But I say to you, Do not take an oath at all, either by heaven, for it is the throne of God,

ESV MAT 05:35 or by the earth, for it is his footstool, or by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King.

ESV MAT 05:36 And do not take an oath by your head, for you cannot make one hair white or black.

ESV MAT 05:37 Let what you say be simply 'Yes' or 'No;' anything more than this comes from evil.

ESV MAT 05:38 "You have heard that it was said, 'An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.'

ESV MAT 05:39 But I say to you, Do not resist the one who is evil. But if anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also.

ESV MAT 05:40 And if anyone would sue you and take your tunic, let him have your cloak as well.

ESV MAT 05:41 And if anyone forces you to go one mile, go with him two miles.

ESV MAT 05:42 Give to the one who begs from you, and do not refuse the one who would borrow from you.

ESV MAT 05:43 "You have heard that it was said, 'You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.'

ESV MAT 05:44 But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,

ESV MAT 05:45 so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.

ESV MAT 05:46 For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same?

ESV MAT 05:47 And if you greet only your brothers, what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same?

ESV MAT 05:48 You therefore must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

ESV MAT 06:01 "Beware of practicing your righteousness before other people in order to be seen by them, for then you will have no reward from your Father who is in heaven.

ESV MAT 06:02 "Thus, when you give to the needy, sound no trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may be praised by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward.

ESV MAT 06:03 But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing,

ESV MAT 06:04 so that your giving may be in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.

ESV MAT 06:05 "And when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites. For they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, that they may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward.

ESV MAT 06:06 But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.

ESV MAT 06:07 "And when you pray, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard for their many words.

ESV MAT 06:08 Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

ESV MAT 06:09 Pray then like this: "Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name.

ESV MAT 06:10 Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

ESV MAT 06:11 Give us this day our daily bread,

ESV MAT 06:12 and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.

ESV MAT 06:13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

ESV MAT 06:14 For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you,

ESV MAT 06:15 but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

ESV MAT 06:16 "And when you fast, do not look gloomy like the hypocrites, for they disfigure their faces that their fasting may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward.

ESV MAT 06:17 But when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face,

ESV MAT 06:18 that your fasting may not be seen by others but by your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.

ESV MAT 06:19 "Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal,

ESV MAT 06:20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.

ESV MAT 06:21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

ESV MAT 06:22 "The eye is the lamp of the body. So, if your eye is healthy, your whole body will be full of light,

ESV MAT 06:23 but if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light in you is darkness, how great is the darkness!

ESV MAT 06:24 "No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.

ESV MAT 06:25 "Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?

ESV MAT 06:26 Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?

ESV MAT 06:27 And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?

ESV MAT 06:28 And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin,

ESV MAT 06:29 yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

ESV MAT 06:30 But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?

ESV MAT 06:31 Therefore do not be anxious, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?'

ESV MAT 06:32 For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all.

ESV MAT 06:33 But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

ESV MAT 06:34 "Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

ESV MAT 07:01 "Judge not, that you be not judged.

ESV MAT 07:02 For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you.

ESV MAT 07:03 Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye?

ESV MAT 07:04 Or how can you say to your brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' when there is the log in your own eye?

ESV MAT 07:05 You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye.

ESV MAT 07:06 "Do not give dogs what is holy, and do not throw your pearls before pigs, lest they trample them underfoot and turn to attack you.

ESV MAT 07:07 "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.

ESV MAT 07:08 For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.

ESV MAT 07:09 Or which one of you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone?

ESV MAT 07:10 Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a serpent?

ESV MAT 07:11 If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!

ESV MAT 07:12 "So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.

ESV MAT 07:13 "Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many.

ESV MAT 07:14 For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.

ESV MAT 07:15 "Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves.

ESV MAT 07:16 You will recognize them by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thornbushes, or figs from thistles?

ESV MAT 07:17 So, every healthy tree bears good fruit, but the diseased tree bears bad fruit.

ESV MAT 07:18 A healthy tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a diseased tree bear good fruit.

ESV MAT 07:19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.

ESV MAT 07:20 Thus you will recognize them by their fruits.

ESV MAT 07:21 "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.

ESV MAT 07:22 On that day many will say to me, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?'

ESV MAT 07:23 And then will I declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.'

ESV MAT 07:24 "Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock.

ESV MAT 07:25 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock.

ESV MAT 07:26 And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand.

ESV MAT 07:27 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it."

ESV MAT 08:03 "I will; be clean."

ESV MAT 08:04 "See that you say nothing to anyone, but go, show yourself to the priest and offer the gift that Moses commanded, for a proof to them."

ESV MAT 08:07 "I will come and heal him."

ESV MAT 08:10 "Truly, I tell you, with no one in Israel have I found such faith.

ESV MAT 08:11 I tell you, many will come from east and west and recline at table with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven,

ESV MAT 08:12 while the sons of the kingdom will be thrown into the outer darkness. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth."

ESV MAT 08:20 "Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head."

ESV MAT 08:22 "Follow me, and leave the dead to bury their own dead."

ESV MAT 08:26 "Why are you afraid, O you of little faith?"

ESV MAT 09:02 "Take heart, my son; your sins are forgiven."

ESV MAT 09:04 "Why do you think evil in your hearts?

ESV MAT 09:05 For which is easier, to say, 'Your sins are forgiven,' or to say, 'Rise and walk?'

ESV MAT 09:06 But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins" . . . "Rise, pick up your bed and go home."

ESV MAT 09:09 "Follow me."

ESV MAT 09:12 "Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick.

ESV MAT 09:13 Go and learn what this means: 'I desire mercy, and not sacrifice.' For I came not to call the righteous, but sinners."

ESV MAT 09:15 "Can the wedding guests mourn as long as the bridegroom is with them? The days will come when the bridegroom is taken away from them, and then they will fast.

ESV MAT 09:16 No one puts a piece of unshrunk cloth on an old garment, for the patch tears away from the garment, and a worse tear is made.

ESV MAT 09:17 Neither is new wine put into old wineskins. If it is, the skins burst and the wine is spilled and the skins are destroyed. But new wine is put into fresh wineskins, and so both are preserved."

ESV MAT 09:22 "Take heart, daughter; your faith has made you well."

ESV MAT 09:24 "Go away, for the girl is not dead but sleeping."

ESV MAT 09:28 "Do you believe that I am able to do this?"

ESV MAT 09:29 "According to your faith be it done to you."

ESV MAT 09:37 "The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few;

ESV MAT 09:38 therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest."

ESV MAT 10:05 "Go nowhere among the Gentiles and enter no town of the Samaritans,

ESV MAT 10:06 but go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

ESV MAT 10:07 And proclaim as you go, saying, 'The kingdom of heaven is at hand.'

ESV MAT 10:08 Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse lepers, cast out demons. You received without paying; give without pay.

ESV MAT 10:09 Acquire no gold or silver or copper for your belts,

ESV MAT 10:10 no bag for your journey, or two tunics or sandals or a staff, for the laborer deserves his food.

ESV MAT 10:11 And whatever town or village you enter, find out who is worthy in it and stay there until you depart.

ESV MAT 10:12 As you enter the house, greet it.

ESV MAT 10:13 And if the house is worthy, let your peace come upon it, but if it is not worthy, let your peace return to you.

ESV MAT 10:14 And if anyone will not receive you or listen to your words, shake off the dust from your feet when you leave that house or town.

ESV MAT 10:15 Truly, I say to you, it will be more bearable on the day of judgment for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah than for that town.

ESV MAT 10:16 "Behold, I am sending you out as sheep in the midst of wolves, so be wise as serpents and innocent as doves.

ESV MAT 10:17 Beware of men, for they will deliver you over to courts and flog you in their synagogues,

ESV MAT 10:18 and you will be dragged before governors and kings for my sake, to bear witness before them and the Gentiles.

ESV MAT 10:19 When they deliver you over, do not be anxious how you are to speak or what you are to say, for what you are to say will be given to you in that hour.

ESV MAT 10:20 For it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.

ESV MAT 10:21 Brother will deliver brother over to death, and the father his child, and children will rise against parents and have them put to death,

ESV MAT 10:22 and you will be hated by all for my name's sake. But the one who endures to the end will be saved.

ESV MAT 10:23 When they persecute you in one town, flee to the next, for truly, I say to you, you will not have gone through all the towns of Israel before the Son of Man comes.

ESV MAT 10:24 "A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his master.

ESV MAT 10:25 It is enough for the disciple to be like his teacher, and the servant like his master. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebul, how much more will they malign those of his household.

ESV MAT 10:26 "So have no fear of them, for nothing is covered that will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be known.

ESV MAT 10:27 What I tell you in the dark, say in the light, and what you hear whispered, proclaim on the housetops.

ESV MAT 10:28 And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell.

ESV MAT 10:29 Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? And not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father.

ESV MAT 10:30 But even the hairs of your head are all numbered.

ESV MAT 10:31 Fear not, therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.

ESV MAT 10:32 So everyone who acknowledges me before men, I also will acknowledge before my Father who is in heaven,

ESV MAT 10:33 but whoever denies me before men, I also will deny before my Father who is in heaven.

ESV MAT 10:34 "Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I have not come to bring peace, but a sword.

ESV MAT 10:35 For I have come to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.

ESV MAT 10:36 And a person's enemies will be those of his own household.

ESV MAT 10:37 Whoever loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me, and whoever loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.

ESV MAT 10:38 And whoever does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me.

ESV MAT 10:39 Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.

ESV MAT 10:40 "Whoever receives you receives me, and whoever receives me receives him who sent me.

ESV MAT 10:41 The one who receives a prophet because he is a prophet will receive a prophet's reward, and the one who receives a righteous person because he is a righteous person will receive a righteous person's reward.

ESV MAT 10:42 And whoever gives one of these little ones even a cup of cold water because he is a disciple, truly, I say to you, he will by no means lose his reward."

ESV MAT 11:04 "Go and tell John what you hear and see:

ESV MAT 11:05 the blind receive their sight and the lame walk, lepers are cleansed and the deaf hear, and the dead are raised up, and the poor have good news preached to them.

ESV MAT 11:06 And blessed is the one who is not offended by me."

ESV MAT 11:07 "What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken by the wind?

ESV MAT 11:08 What then did you go out to see? A man dressed in soft clothing? Behold, those who wear soft clothing are in kings' houses.

ESV MAT 11:09 What then did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and more than a prophet.

ESV MAT 11:10 This is he of whom it is written, "'Behold, I send my messenger before your face, who will prepare your way before you.'

ESV MAT 11:11 Truly, I say to you, among those born of women there has arisen no one greater than John the Baptist. Yet the one who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.

ESV MAT 11:12 From the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven has suffered violence, and the violent take it by force.

ESV MAT 11:13 For all the Prophets and the Law prophesied until John,

ESV MAT 11:14 and if you are willing to accept it, he is Elijah who is to come.

ESV MAT 11:15 He who has ears to hear, let him hear.

ESV MAT 11:16 "But to what shall I compare this generation? It is like children sitting in the marketplaces and calling to their playmates,

ESV MAT 11:17 "'We played the flute for you, and you did not dance; we sang a dirge, and you did not mourn.'

ESV MAT 11:18 For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, 'He has a demon.'

ESV MAT 11:19 The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, 'Look at him! A glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!' Yet wisdom is justified by her deeds."

ESV MAT 11:21 "Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.

ESV MAT 11:22 But I tell you, it will be more bearable on the day of judgment for Tyre and Sidon than for you.

ESV MAT 11:23 And you, Capernaum, will you be exalted to heaven? You will be brought down to Hades. For if the mighty works done in you had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day.

ESV MAT 11:24 But I tell you that it will be more tolerable on the day of judgment for the land of Sodom than for you."

ESV MAT 11:25 "I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to little children;

ESV MAT 11:26 yes, Father, for such was your gracious will.

ESV MAT 11:27 All things have been handed over to me by my Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.

ESV MAT 11:28 Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

ESV MAT 11:29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

ESV MAT 11:30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."

ESV MAT 12:03 "Have you not read what David did when he was hungry, and those who were with him:

ESV MAT 12:04 how he entered the house of God and ate the bread of the Presence, which it was not lawful for him to eat nor for those who were with him, but only for the priests?

ESV MAT 12:05 Or have you not read in the Law how on the Sabbath the priests in the temple profane the Sabbath and are guiltless?

ESV MAT 12:06 I tell you, something greater than the temple is here.

ESV MAT 12:07 And if you had known what this means, 'I desire mercy, and not sacrifice,' you would not have condemned the guiltless.

ESV MAT 12:08 For the Son of Man is lord of the Sabbath."

ESV MAT 12:11 "Which one of you who has a sheep, if it falls into a pit on the Sabbath, will not take hold of it and lift it out?

ESV MAT 12:12 Of how much more value is a man than a sheep! So it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath."

ESV MAT 12:13 "Stretch out your hand."

ESV MAT 12:25 "Every kingdom divided against itself is laid waste, and no city or house divided against itself will stand.

ESV MAT 12:26 And if Satan casts out Satan, he is divided against himself. How then will his kingdom stand?

ESV MAT 12:27 And if I cast out demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your sons cast them out? Therefore they will be your judges.

ESV MAT 12:28 But if it is by the Spirit of God that I cast out demons, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.

ESV MAT 12:29 Or how can someone enter a strong man's house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man? Then indeed he may plunder his house.

ESV MAT 21:42 "Have you never read in the Scriptures: "'The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone; this was the Lord's doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes?'

ESV MAT 21:43 Therefore I tell you, the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people producing its fruits.

ESV MAT 22:07 The king was angry, and he sent his troops and destroyed those murderers and burned their city.

ESV MAT 22:08 Then he said to his servants, 'The wedding feast is ready, but those invited were not worthy.

ESV MAT 22:09 Go therefore to the main roads and invite to the wedding feast as many as you find.'

ESV MAT 22:10 And those servants went out into the roads and gathered all whom they found, both bad and good. So the wedding hall was filled with guests.

ESV MAT 22:12 And he said to him, 'Friend, how did you get in here without a wedding garment?' And he was speechless.

ESV MAT 22:13 Then the king said to the attendants, 'Bind him hand and foot and cast him into the outer darkness. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.'

ESV MAT 24:15 "So when you see the abomination of desolation spoken of by the prophet Daniel, standing in the holy place,

ESV MAT 24:16 then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.

ESV MAT 24:17 Let the one who is on the housetop not go down to take what is in his house,

ESV MAT 24:18 and let the one who is in the field not turn back to take his cloak.

ESV MAT 24:19 And alas for women who are pregnant and for those who are nursing infants in those days!

ESV MAT 24:20 Pray that your flight may not be in winter or on a Sabbath.

ESV MAT 24:21 For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, and never will be.

ESV MAT 24:22 And if those days had not been cut short, no human being would be saved. But for the sake of the elect those days will be cut short.

ESV MAT 24:23 Then if anyone says to you, 'Look, here is the Christ!' or 'There he is!' do not believe it.

ESV MAT 24:24 For false christs and false prophets will arise and perform great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect.

ESV MAT 24:26 So, if they say to you, 'Look, he is in the wilderness,' do not go out. If they say, 'Look, he is in the inner rooms,' do not believe it.

ESV MAT 25:03 For when the foolish took their lamps, they took no oil with them,

ESV MAT 25:04 but the wise took flasks of oil with their lamps.

ESV MAT 25:05 As the bridegroom was delayed, they all became drowsy and slept.

ESV MAT 25:06 But at midnight there was a cry, 'Here is the bridegroom! Come out to meet him.'

ESV MAT 25:13 Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour.

ESV MAT 25:31 "When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne.

ESV MAT 25:32 Before him will be gathered all the nations, and he will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.

ESV MAT 25:33 And he will place the sheep on his right, but the goats on the left.

ESV MAT 25:34 Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.

ESV MAT 25:35 For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me,

ESV MAT 25:36 I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.'

ESV MAT 25:37 Then the righteous will answer him, saying, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink?

ESV MAT 25:38 And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you?

ESV MAT 25:39 And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?'

ESV MAT 25:40 And the King will answer them, 'Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.'

ESV MAT 25:41 "Then he will say to those on his left, 'Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.

ESV MAT 25:42 For I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink,

ESV MAT 25:43 I was a stranger and you did not welcome me, naked and you did not clothe me, sick and in prison and you did not visit me.'

ESV MAT 25:44 Then they also will answer, saying, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to you?'

ESV MAT 25:45 Then he will answer them, saying, 'Truly, I say to you, as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me.'

ESV MAT 25:46 And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life."

ESV MAT 26:02 "You know that after two days the Passover is coming, and the Son of Man will be delivered up to be crucified."

ESV LUK 12:22 "Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat, nor about your body, what you will put on.

ESV LUK 12:39 But know this, that if the master of the house had known at what hour the thief was coming, he would not have left his house to be broken into.

ESV LUK 12:42 "Who then is the faithful and wise manager, whom his master will set over his household, to give them their portion of food at the proper time?

ESV LUK 12:45 But if that servant says to himself, 'My master is delayed in coming,' and begins to beat the male and female servants, and to eat and drink and get drunk,

ESV LUK 12:46 the master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he does not know, and will cut him in pieces and put him with the unfaithful.

ESV LUK 12:47 And that servant who knew his master's will but did not get ready or act according to his will, will receive a severe beating.

ESV LUK 12:48 But the one who did not know, and did what deserved a beating, will receive a light beating. Everyone to whom much was given, of him much will be required, and from him to whom they entrusted much, they will demand the more.

ESV LUK 13:07 And he said to the vinedresser, 'Look, for three years now I have come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and I find none. Cut it down. Why should it use up the ground?'

ESV LUK 13:08 And he answered him, 'Sir, let it alone this year also, until I dig around it and put on manure.

ESV LUK 13:09 Then if it should bear fruit next year, well and good; but if not, you can cut it down.'"

ESV LUK 14:08 "When you are invited by someone to a wedding feast, do not sit down in a place of honor, lest someone more distinguished than you be invited by him,

ESV LUK 14:09 and he who invited you both will come and say to you, 'Give your place to this person,' and then you will begin with shame to take the lowest place.

ESV LUK 14:10 But when you are invited, go and sit in the lowest place, so that when your host comes he may say to you, 'Friend, move up higher.' Then you will be honored in the presence of all who sit at table with you.

ESV LUK 14:11 For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted."

ESV LUK 14:12 "When you give a dinner or a banquet, do not invite your friends or your brothers or your relatives or rich neighbors, lest they also invite you in return and you be repaid.

ESV LUK 14:14 and you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you. For you will be repaid at the resurrection of the just."

ESV LUK 14:16 "A man once gave a great banquet and invited many.

ESV LUK 14:17 And at the time for the banquet he sent his servant to say to those who had been invited, 'Come, for everything is now ready.'

ESV LUK 14:18 But they all alike began to make excuses. The first said to him, 'I have bought a field, and I must go out and see it. Please have me excused.'

ESV LUK 14:19 And another said, 'I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to examine them. Please have me excused.'

ESV LUK 14:20 And another said, 'I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come.'

ESV LUK 14:21 So the servant came and reported these things to his master. Then the master of the house became angry and said to his servant, 'Go out quickly to the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in the poor and crippled and blind and lame.'

ESV LUK 14:22 And the servant said, 'Sir, what you commanded has been done, and still there is room.'

ESV LUK 14:23 And the master said to the servant, 'Go out to the highways and hedges and compel people to come in, that my house may be filled.

ESV LUK 14:24 For I tell you, none of those men who were invited shall taste my banquet.'"

ESV LUK 14:26 "If anyone comes to me and does not hate his own father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be my disciple.

ESV LUK 14:27 Whoever does not bear his own cross and come after me cannot be my disciple.

ESV LUK 14:28 For which of you, desiring to build a tower, does not first sit down and count the cost, whether he has enough to complete it?

ESV LUK 14:29 Otherwise, when he has laid a foundation and is not able to finish, all who see it begin to mock him,

ESV LUK 14:30 saying, 'This man began to build and was not able to finish.'

ESV LUK 14:31 Or what king, going out to encounter another king in war, will not sit down first and deliberate whether he is able with ten thousand to meet him who comes against him with twenty thousand?

ESV LUK 14:32 And if not, while the other is yet a great way off, he sends a delegation and asks for terms of peace.

ESV LUK 14:33 So therefore, any one of you who does not renounce all that he has cannot be my disciple.

ESV LUK 14:34 "Salt is good, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored?

ESV LUK 14:35 It is of no use either for the soil or for the manure pile. It is thrown away. He who has ears to hear, let him hear."

ESV LUK 15:04 "What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he has lost one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the open country, and go after the one that is lost, until he finds it?

ESV LUK 15:05 And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing.

ESV LUK 15:06 And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and his neighbors, saying to them, 'Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep that was lost.'

ESV LUK 15:07 Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance.

ESV LUK 15:08 "Or what woman, having ten silver coins, if she loses one coin, does not light a lamp and sweep the house and seek diligently until she finds it?

ESV LUK 15:09 And when she has found it, she calls together her friends and neighbors, saying, 'Rejoice with me, for I have found the coin that I had lost.'

ESV LUK 15:12 And the younger of them said to his father, 'Father, give me the share of property that is coming to me.' And he divided his property between them.

ESV LUK 15:13 Not many days later, the younger son gathered all he had and took a journey into a far country, and there he squandered his property in reckless living.

ESV LUK 15:14 And when he had spent everything, a severe famine arose in that country, and he began to be in need.

ESV LUK 15:15 So he went and hired himself out to one of the citizens of that country, who sent him into his fields to feed pigs.

ESV LUK 15:16 And he was longing to be fed with the pods that the pigs ate, and no one gave him anything.

ESV LUK 15:17 "But when he came to himself, he said, 'How many of my father's hired servants have more than enough bread, but I perish here with hunger!

ESV LUK 15:18 I will arise and go to my father, and I will say to him, "Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you.

ESV LUK 15:19 I am no longer worthy to be called your son. Treat me as one of your hired servants."'

ESV LUK 15:20 And he arose and came to his father. But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and felt compassion, and ran and embraced him and kissed him.

ESV LUK 15:21 And the son said to him, 'Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.'

ESV LUK 15:22 But the father said to his servants, 'Bring quickly the best robe, and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet.

ESV LUK 15:23 And bring the fattened calf and kill it, and let us eat and celebrate.

ESV LUK 15:24 For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found.' And they began to celebrate.

ESV LUK 15:25 "Now his older son was in the field, and as he came and drew near to the house, he heard music and dancing.

ESV LUK 15:26 And he called one of the servants and asked what these things meant.

ESV LUK 15:27 And he said to him, 'Your brother has come, and your father has killed the fattened calf, because he has received him back safe and sound.'

ESV LUK 15:29 but he answered his father, 'Look, these many years I have served you, and I never disobeyed your command, yet you never gave me a young goat, that I might celebrate with my friends.

ESV LUK 16:01 "There was a rich man who had a manager, and charges were brought to him that this man was wasting his possessions.

ESV LUK 16:02 And he called him and said to him, 'What is this that I hear about you? Turn in the account of your management, for you can no longer be manager.'

ESV LUK 16:03 And the manager said to himself, 'What shall I do, since my master is taking the management away from me? I am not strong enough to dig, and I am ashamed to beg.

ESV LUK 16:04 I have decided what to do, so that when I am removed from management, people may receive me into their houses.'

ESV LUK 16:05 So, summoning his master's debtors one by one, he said to the first, 'How much do you owe my master?'

ESV LUK 16:06 He said, 'A hundred measures of oil.' He said to him, 'Take your bill, and sit down quickly and write fifty.'

ESV LUK 16:07 Then he said to another, 'And how much do you owe?' He said, 'A hundred measures of wheat.' He said to him, 'Take your bill, and write eighty.'

ESV LUK 16:08 The master commended the dishonest manager for his shrewdness. For the sons of this world are more shrewd in dealing with their own generation than the sons of light.

ESV LUK 16:09 And I tell you, make friends for yourselves by means of unrighteous wealth, so that when it fails they may receive you into the eternal dwellings.

ESV LUK 16:10 "One who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much, and one who is dishonest in a very little is also dishonest in much.

ESV LUK 16:16 "The Law and the Prophets were until John; since then the good news of the kingdom of God is preached, and everyone forces his way into it.

ESV LUK 16:17 But it is easier for heaven and earth to pass away than for one dot of the Law to become void.

ESV LUK 16:25 But Abraham said, 'Child, remember that you in your lifetime received your good things, and Lazarus in like manner bad things; but now he is comforted here, and you are in anguish.

ESV LUK 16:26 And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been fixed, in order that those who would pass from here to you may not be able, and none may cross from there to us.'

ESV LUK 16:27 And he said, 'Then I beg you, father, to send him to my father's house -

ESV LUK 16:28 for I have five brothers - so that he may warn them, lest they also come into this place of torment.'

ESV LUK 16:29 But Abraham said, 'They have Moses and the Prophets; let them hear them.'

ESV LUK 16:30 And he said, 'No, father Abraham, but if someone goes to them from the dead, they will repent.'

ESV JOH 15:27 And you also will bear witness, because you have been with me from the beginning.

ESV JOH 16:09 concerning sin, because they do not believe in me;

ESV JOH 16:13 When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come.

ESV JOH 16:16 "A little while, and you will see me no longer; and again a little while, and you will see me."
